Battery Storage success

A 25mw battery storage project in North Tyneside was developed through its construction stage and has been commissioned and is operated by Italian Utility company Enel.

Elliotts  worked closely with Element Power's and ENEL's development team, contributing environmental due diligence advice, protected species survey and site investigations on the brownfield and ecology aspects of the site and cable route, which have a long industrial history.  We  continued to be involved in implementing environmental risk management throughout the construction stage, including extensive hands-on and pragmatic environmental and ecological advisory and compliance monitoring, including for protected species and mitigation provision.  The picture shows an amphibian refugia installed as part of the approved final mitigation and enhancement works.

Fish Pass Award

Award presentation to EES, BT Bell, Tyne Rivers Trust, the EA and Northumberland County Council by the President of the Institution of Civil Engineers Sir John Armitt.

Celebrity Robson Green opened the Hexham Fish Pass on 22nd March 2016 at Tyne Green, Hexham.

Elliott Environmental Surveyors worked closely with the Tyne Rivers Trust, Northumberland County Council, civil engineers and local landowners to develop this important improvement to the finest salmon river in England.  The weir at Hexham Bridge was proving too big a leap for fish on their way to spawn upstream.  Elliotts managed the environmental planning process for the fish pass, from preparing the original feasibility study through to obtaining full planning consent for the project.  The project has now been entered for the ICE Robert Stephenson Award.
